Did you know you have been called to a holy calling?
If I were to ask you how that’s going what would your answer be?
- Well not going very well
- Its going badly because I am so not equipped
- God could never use me because …
People have all many reasons why God wouldn’t use them, even though God seems to use other people. Sometimes we have an erroneous belief that God only uses flawless people. That is not true. In fact it is almost always the opposite. In the Bible, everyone that God uses has some kind of flaw.
Do you feel like God couldn’t possibly use you? Remember:
~ Noah was a drunk
~ Abraham was too old
~ Isaac was a daydreamer
~ Jacob was a liar
~ Leah was ugly
~ Joseph was abused
~ Moses had a stuttering problem (Moses stuttered)
~ Gideon was afraid
~ Samson had long hair and was a womanizer
~ Rahab was a prostitute
~ Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
~ David was an adulterer and a murderer
~ Elijah was suicidal
~ Isaiah preached naked
~ Jonah ran from God
~ Naomi was a widow
~ Job went bankrupt
~ John the Baptist ate bugs
~ Peter denied Christ
~ The disciples fell asleep while praying
~ Martha worried about everything
~ The Samaritan woman was divorced (more than once)
~ Zacchaeus was too small
~ Paul was too religious

~ Lazarus was dead!
Why is Joseph prince on TV instead of you? Why is Billy Graham a great preacher and not you? Why did Graham Power create the Global Day of Prayer and not you? We think they must be all be spiritual giants – prince’s of the Kingdom. Surely God only uses prince’s. I on the other hand am just a scoundrel! Scoundrels are full of hangups. That’s what makes them scoundrels
We have hangups and our lives are full of complications and problems. Nevertheless, ALL people are all just looking for love and acceptance. What is holding you back from your destiny in Christ?
What holds us back from our holy calling?
