Who is Jesus to you?

Who is Jesus to you? I mean really think about this? What is Jesus in your life? And before you flippantly answer and say He is the Lord of all, and He is number 1 in my life, think about your actions. Your actions and the way you live, speak and the time you give to God will tell you if this is really the case.

Matthew 1 v 1 “This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham:”

I have heard it said “your actions speak louder than your words”. I have also heard it said that “what you do shouts so loudly that I can’t hear what you say”.  Both of these statements is true I believe. The problem with many Christians is so much of what we believe is in our heads or minds but not in our hearts.  We need to believe in our spirit man. Now this is not as simple as it sounds. Jesus told Nicodemus that unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. The Holy Spirit will reveal Jesus to us, as the Holy Spirit counsels us and guides us daily. The more you submit your will to Him, the more H will lead you. But remember this:

Your will is stronger than God’s will in your life.

It may sound odd, but it is true, because God made us to have total and complete and utter FREE will. So your choices every day will reveal who Jesus is to you. In Jesus day, some people called him a fake, some called him a prophet, some called him a false prophet, some called him a magician. But God the Father said at Jesus baptism

“this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”.

Peter declared one day that “you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God”. And Jesus said, Peter you are right. My Father must have revealed this to you.

I hope and pray Jesus is more than a prayer buddy to you. I hope He is more than a magic genie in a bottle who you expect will do miracles when you have messed up. I hope Jesus is more than a Sunday acquaintance, who you sing about once a week but barely speak about Him to your friends. Jesus wants to be your EVERYTHING.

Matthew starts off this chapter and announces Jesus birth as follows:

Matthew 1 v 1 “This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham:”

Jesus is the long awaited Messiah, and He is the one the world was waiting for, the fulfillment of the promise God gave to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and David.

We would love to hear what you have to say
