Surely some stories in the Bible aren’t true! 2

Some people say to me, surely not everything in the the Bible is true. I mean who can believe stories like Jonah and the whale or Noah’s ark? These stories are there to teach something but should not be taken seriously, surely? Well I care to disagree. The thing about choosing to follow Christ is that it is largely built on faith. Faith means taking what God said and acting like it is true. Some things like the creation of the world may challenge some popular science, but the theory of evolution has never been proved, hence it is still a theory. Pieces of Noah’s ark were discovered this year (a few months ago) in exactly the place the ark would have come to rest. People have survived inside a whale for more than a day and have come out and lived (see one of my previous posts).

af9c9ea1e8583ed3b8bfef9256e58ad2This is a warning John gives in Revelation:

Revelation 22 v 18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

Science has for thousands of years been trying to disprove the Bible and has failed. There have been serious problems with carbon dating. On the other hand it is acknowledged by historians that Jesus Christ was a real person who lived in and around Israel 2000 years ago. This is backed up not jut by the books of the Bible but by ancient historians too.

It would be pointless in a short devotional to go through each point in depth. What I would like to leave with you is this:

Trust God completely and you will never be disappointed. The Bible is written by 40 people over a period of 1500 years  and it all fits together and agrees. Do you know how hard it is to have three different people attend the same event and agree on what happened? Well this is what makes the Bible so amazing, it all fits together! And that’s because it is inspired by God. Do not ever doubt the Bible and if people think you are stupid to believe it completely, just smile and say let’s agree to disagree. God doesn’t think you’re stupid to believe that every single word in the Bile is true.

Great post! I completely believe EVERYTHING written in the Word of God. If we don’t we might as well close the book and follow some other doctrine or religion

Whatever God does is perfect and true.
If any man calls himself a Christian but doubt the words of The Bible, then he is no Christian at all

We would love to hear what you have to say
